SPRING Conference in Houston (2005)

On October 11th the delegation from UTD departed for the third annual SPRING (Strategic Partnership for Research in NanotechnoloGy) conference hosted by Rice University in Houston, Texas.

UTD Vice President for Research and Economic Development, Dr. Da Hsuan Feng, opened the conference. UTD faculty members, Ray Baughman, Ken Balkus, and Anvar Zakhidov gave lectures at the conference.

Of the 110 entries presented at the poster competition more than 35 were from UTD. First and third places went to graduate student KZ Inoue and visiting scientist Jiyoung Oh, respectively. Congratulations KZ and Jiyoung!
