Industrial Affiliates

Goals of the Industrial Affiliates Program

The overarching goal of the Industrial Affiliates Program is to provide access to information and insights that will help the member company develop new and improved products. This will be accomplished in part by (1) providing early access to research and development breakthroughs made at the NanoTech Institute; (2) providing information on R&D advances made globally; (3) providing access to NanoTech Institute research teams for conducting mutually agreed upon company sponsored research; and (4) providing early contact with bright, dedicated, and productive undergraduate, doctorial, and postdoctoral students who might become future company employees.

Member Benefits of the Industrial Affiliates Program

Affiliates Conferences: Representatives of an Industrial Affiliate company will be invited to participate in two day-long conferences per year at The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) in which recent advances made by the NanoTech Institute are described and commercialization possibilities discussed. These meetings, or equivalent shorter meetings, if desired by the Industrial Affiliate, will be held on mutually agreed upon dates. So that the newest results can be presented, the Industrial Affiliate should have a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) in place with UTD. Presentations will be made by NanoTech researchers on their latest research results. Laboratory tours and demonstrations will be conducted when desired by the Industrial Affiliate. Opportunities will be provided for interactions with talented young researchers. The day-long events will be accompanied by lunch at UTD and a dinner that will foster informal discussions.
Special Invitations: The Industrial Affiliate will receive VIP invitations to NanoTech seminars and guest lectures in areas of their interest. When possible, the Industrial Affiliate will be offered an opportunity to meet individually with the invited speaker.
Recruiting: An Industrial Affiliate will have ample opportunities to assess the qualifications of outstanding NanoTech undergraduates, PhD candidates, and post doctorial researchers before these individuals are actively involved in job seeking.
Corporate Branding: When desired by an Industrial Affiliate, their corporate logo will be prominently displayed on the Industrial Affiliates Program website and event materials.
